In less than three weeks, Joye and I will be parents. I know, I know - pretty scary! We are both very excited, though. God has really blessed us. We've been married for almost 7 years now. I can't believe it has been that long, but we've been having fun and have experienced some pretty incredible things together in that short time. We've had some hard times and some really, really good times. We've had time to "be" with each other, to sit on a couch leaning on each other enjoying the company of silence. We've had time to travel to far away places, places we never dreamed we would be able to go. We've had time to invest deeply into family and friends, who's love we will never take for granted. We've had time to "grow up" and look back on our own lives and see the miraculous changes God has made. Mostly, we've had time to realize that being a parent can't be all that bad. We hear stories of horror and stories of glee. However, what excites us the most is the opportunity to be the type of parents that we had. If Joye and I can mimic in even the slightest way the type of parenting we were blessed with, then we think things will be alright. Plus, we've got God to guide us, right? Who needs lamas classes?
Until the baby comes - enjoy today, enjoy your family, enjoy your next meal, and for crying out loud, slow down and enjoy the silence!
Peace and love,
