Where's Caleb?

That's a question we're asking each other a lot lately. Caleb is everywhere these days. He's growing strong and it's obvious he wants to be bigger and bigger every day. He gets frustrated that he can't run off. Yesterday, he stood for a few seconds all by himself! It was so fun to watch his eyes get big and his mouth open wide to smile. It was actually like he knew what he was doing for a second.:)

We had Caleb's 9 month check up last week. He weighed in at 20lbs, 6oz. He lost a little weight during his bout with RSV - 2 weeks ago he was almost 21lbs and for the last week and a half he's been eating like a horse, so we're guessing he lost some and is gaining it back well. Nonetheless, his weight remains in the 50th percentile. His head is HUGE! He's in the 90th percentile at 18.5 inches round. He continues to be off the charts in length. He is 30.5 inches tall. Tall and skinny - we think that is the trend we'll see develop with Caleb.

We've been very lucky to have a healthy baby. For 8 months or so we really did not have much sickness to deal with, but the last month or so has been tough. He's over the RSV thing, but then caught another cold a few days ago and it's hit him pretty hard. We are learning how to take these things one step at a time, but it can be easy to assume the worst. We're looking forward to some normalcy, but are not taking our experiences right now for granted.

We are leaving Caleb with family this weekend as we head off to a retreat with some Sr. Highers. We're so grateful for family who loves Caleb and we're excited for him to get to know them better.
