So close...

Hello!

It's been a while since we've updated you on our lives - sorry about that. Things have been going very well for the Hampton's. Caleb got over his bad cold and ear infection and is still growing fast. He had his 6 month shots a week and a half ago. He measured in at 29 inches long and the Doctor said he is "off the charts" for his length right now. We are so thankful for a healthy little boy who likes to eat!

Speaking of eating, he's chowin' on "solids" now. They call 'em solids, but it's more like he's eating smoothies - fruit and vegetable smoothies.:) He's eaten everything we've presented him with so far except for green beans. He makes the most hilarious, innocent "that's-disgusting-face" whenever he takes a bite of them. We'll work on that, and hopefully he'll get around to 'eating his greens.'

The most fun part about the parenthood for us right now is watching Caleb almost crawl. He gets up on his knees and hands, and just starts rocking. It's as if in his mind he is moving, but his body isn't - just rocking. He pulls himself around and if it's too far to pull himself, he just rolls to whatever it is he's after.

We've been working on "mamamamama" and "dadadadada" with him. It is so cool to see the concentration at such an early age. He moves his mouth as if he's trying to sound out the word. We are convinced that when Joye walked into the room tonight he said "mama!" He's never made that sound out of his mouth before and he makes the motions with his mouth all the time when he sees Joye, but this time there was actually noise with it. We know it was probably just a random noise, but we're claiming that as his first word - at least Joye is!:)

Well, here are some pictures for you to enjoy. We hope everyone is doing well. Thanks for stopping by to check in on us. We think about those we don't get to see often!

Love you all,
JJC

P.S. Go Packers!!!

Bath time!

He's become fond of the little froggy.

Happy New Year!

We hope you all had a great Christmas and had fun welcoming in the new year! We enjoyed the time we got to spend with family and friends over the last few weeks. It was great to see everyone again!

We are all doing well. Although, Caleb is getting over his first "real" bout with sickness. It was a rough week, but we can't complain a whole bunch.:) Things are slowly becoming normal (whatever that is!) again.

As I type this, the wind is howling outside and there are three trash cans racing down our street...I think the one with wheels is going to win.;)

Well, here are some pictures of the little man. Thanks for stopping by!

Love ya,
JJC

Caleb's not sure...and neither is Santa by the looks of it!

Stocking stuffer.

Ooooh, this is some nice paper!

Whew...that was a long day!

Sick boy.

Happy boy!

Half Birthday!

Today is Joye and Caleb's "Half Birthday!" In other words, Caleb is 6 months old and Joye is 27 and a half! Wooohooo! No need to send gifts for this grand occasion.:) We'll put some fun Christmas pictures on here soon, but we thought we'd show you this picture first. People have been trying to decide if Caleb looks more like me or Joye for a while now. Well, this picture doesn't lie!

We'll post more in a couple days. Until then, enjoy the rest of 2007!
Love ya,
JJC

Almost 6 Months!

We thought we would give a quick update with some pictures before we left for Wyoming. Here are some cute pictures of the little man. It is so fun to walk through each stage of life with him. We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!

Love you,
JJC

Looks like he needs a teddy bear to cuddle with instead of the bumper!

Precious...

He's a little wobbly, but he does pretty well sitting up now.

Not quite sure what to think about the new seat.

Oh, now he knows what to think! His first attempt at "solid" foods was a success.

Merry Christmas!

Hello! We hope that each of you are doing well. It is a good time of year for us because things typically "slow" down a little. It is nice to be able to take a breather, spend time together and with our family during this Christmas season. We are looking forward to spending time with our family in Wyoming this year for Christmas and introducing Caleb to Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins he's never met. It will be a good time and good to see Johnny's side of the family again.

Caleb is still growing strong and is developing more and more of a personality. He is one active little boy, that's for sure!

Enjoy this time of year, stay warm, and love each other!

Peace and Love,
JJC

For those of you who didn't receive our Christmas card...
